A day off

Well hello my dears,

I took a day off of work today to just have a day to myself. Ever feel like doing that, you just need a day of quiet, no phone calls, just to yourself. Watch TV, do some cleaning, laundry that has been piling up, or maybe even get some of those projects done that have been on my craft table for the past week.

I haven't kept you updated on my stairs because I lost momentum in doing them last weekend when apparently I got a paint that was too creamy. I was going for a white, light and creamy, but not too bright. This is the color of linen. Which wouldn't be bad and no one else can tell the difference in the color but I can. If I go with this color I would have to redo the trim around the stairs. I also think it dulls the rich red mahogany stain that is on the stairs. They just look BLAH. So back to the drawing board on those.

I did add a bit of color to my Living Room and Entryway.
Don't look at the TV area! work in progress.
Sorry about the dark pictures... I can never remember to take pictures during the day time.
The Color is Tobacco Road by Sherwin Williams.
I first saw the color while looking at houses and fell in love!
Yellow brown gold colors. Just gorgeous!

I am thinking of doing the living room entirely in this color above some board and batten. The contrast in color is great.

Let me know what you think. Does anyone else go from one project to another? get bored with a project?
I am suppose to be making a quilt and baby booties for 2 baby showers in one week and this is what I am doing.

well until next time,
Hugs,
Cherie

A New Look!

Well there my dears!

Hope you all have had a great Saturday.
I have been working on some spring cleaning today, fixing a computer and another coat of Kilz on the dreaded stairs redo...yes it has become the never ending project.

Gave myself a new look today... no not me physically.. the blog!

Do you like?

Thanks to Kristin at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia  I was able to use Picasa to edit my photos and created that gorgeous collage that you see up there!

Trying to remember all of my previous education in web design, but soo much has changed in the past 6 years and I haven't kept up with it. Luckily I still have my books so you may see changes here and there.

Let me know what you think!

I also had to watch for this today.

Newest Wreath

Hello my dears!

Hope you all have been having a great week.
It is becoming beautiful here, I cant wait to get out and start taking pictures again.

What have you been working on this week?

I have been working on my wreath since last weekend, as I painted paper mache eggs and decided I wanted them glossy looking so I have been waiting for the poly to dry. Can we say procasinating ;-)

So what do you think?

Hugs!

Happy Sunday!

Hello there my dears,
I hope you all have had a beautiful Sunday as we did here.
Though instead of being outside in the beautiful weather like Monkey Man was all day, I was redoing stairs.
First coat of Kilz to get rid of my messy staining.

Then on to a little spring decorating.
Made the tray a couple of weeks ago, added some vinyl to it today that I got at the Dollar Tree.
I love the little quote.

Got the bunnies at a consignment shop yesterday. I couldn't resist them, soo cute!

Dollar Store Hurricane Vases that are all the rage in blogland.

Also in the process of making a wreath for the front door.
And what have you all been up to today?

new arrivals

Hello there my dears,

As I said a couple of days ago, we were fostering 2 kittens.
They arrived today.
So tiny they are.

Names are Gizmo and Gabby.
Gabby cries a lot but will curl up next to you and go to sleep.
Gizmo is curious and wants to explore.
Lizard is holding Gabby.
They need a bit of work on their social skills.
Two orange pretty little girls.
sorry for the bad quality, we had to bathe them.  Cell phone pic.
 Until next time,

Hugs,
Cherie
