A gift!

Hello My dears,

I wanted to let all of you know that I received my giveaway prize present from Amie over at Kitty Cats and Airplanes

It is the cutest necklace and charm. I wasn't expecting it to be so long, which I LOVE!
Ack Lizard took this pic when I got home from work... excuse the hair.

Don't mind the pudge... working on that.

HAHA model I am not and don't mind the mess in the background. Don't judge.

Until next time,

A new Rug

Hello My dears,

I think I am in LURVE... with a rug.

Hand-tufted Coliseum Beige Wool Rug (8' x 11')
Hand tufted Coliseum Beige Wool Rug

Isn't she pretty?
I really do like her and the price isn't terrible.
Although, I will have to get new furniture in the living room, or slipcover everything. I think the later will be much cheaper. But I don't know if white slipcovers would work, what about beige?  Too much beige? These are the thoughts that are running through my head!
Is decorating a room around a rug wrong? Do you think this will go with my current wall color Sherwin Williams Tobacco Road?

Well Until next time!

Hello my dears,

I thought today I would share with you some of my new addiction.

Grosgrain: Wow 31

I am addicted to Pinterest. I could spend HOURS on there. It is like bookmarking all of your favorites. You go to a website that you love or find interesting, click 'Pin it' that is in your bookmark bar and Voila it is saved for you to view again later.
Food, clothing, art, DIY stuff, you name it. ALL there!

Also as good as Lindt's Chocolate with Sea salt! YUM!

Ok I got a bit excited there.

Go visit Pinterst, if you need an invitation just email me so I can send you an invite or just request one.

Until Next time,

Lots of Hugs!

a shower and a quilt

Hello my dears,

Hope you are having a better weekend than mine.

First off my wallet was stolen sometime Thursday afternoon after I went to gas up my vehicle. No clue when, just know it was not in my purse last night when I went to pick up some foster kitties. Thank goodness my credit cards weren't in that wallet. Only my debt card, $16 and my driver license. So off to DMV monday to get a duplicate made. Yay, just the place I want to go after work. Hopefully I can get it done online.

Second, 2 more kitties in the mix. 7 total. Yes, I am becoming the crazy cat lady. ;-)
We now have Gabby, Gizmo, ( 3 orange tabbies; 2 girls and a boy) and Gilligan. Gordon the little sweet black kitty. I will try to get pictures of all of them together.

Third, I know you all have been waiting on a picture of the baby quilt I did for SIL.

So without further ado The baby quilt!

Check out my little Helper!
Check out those mismatched socks on my little helper... Yep, that is how he rolls.

Some detail

I also made a flower to go with it out of the left over material. It is removable from the quilt so SIL can put it on some other place so the baby won't get hurt or eat it.

Also, my first ever covered Button!
So the Baby shower was great! SIL made out like a bandit. The cutest baby girl clothes I have seen in a while. And the most darling pillowcase dress with a little story of how the pillow case dresses came about. Though I have tried looking googling the origin of pillowcase dresses I have yet to come up with something.

I also did yet another pair of booties.
don't why they look so wrinkled
I also had a bit of help making the booties.

Of course Marley had to help out.

SIL loved both of them and I am glad. ;-)

Until next time,

Hello my dears,

Hope you all are having a great Thursday!
This is my last day of work for the week! Three day weekend here I come.

So, I am going to a baby shower this weekend, as in Saturday... and I still have the binding left to do on the quilt I am making and make the few other things I promised. Can we say that Cherie's procrastination is getting the best of her this month week?

Well anyways, I would love to show you the quilt but someone (Sister in law) reads this blog.

This is the fabric I am using. Isn't it SWEET?
yes, we she is expecting a baby girl! I don't know who is more excited the new parents to be or me!
I can't wait as my girls are getting way too old to be dressed in onsies with frilly little tutus, matching hairbows and shoes. I also don't think Monkey Man would appreciate it! ;-)

What have you all been working on this week?

Ohhh, I won another giveaway! Mine for the Making giveaway by Kitty cats and airplanes etsy store during the Spring Fling she was holding! I can't wait to see my present award.

Until next time,

Finding treasure

Hello my dears,

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.
I am not. The girls are not home this week as their father is on vacation from being overseas. They are gone until Easter. BOOOOO.

Now I get to come home to find out what the cats have done to the litter boxes, what they have knocked over or avoid the numerous amount of toys on the living room as you come through the door.
IT was GGGRRROOOOOSSSSSS yesterday. One of the bigger cats decided to use the babies little itty bitty dish pan as their box. Not good... let's just saw face masks were involved and lots of vinegar water. My poor half bath.

Then there was the garbage and dishes and laundry. I don't like having to do all this work, isn't this what I had kids for (just kidding, though they do chores)? They know I miss them already. Just don't look forward to coming home to an empty house and chores waiting on me.

In other Treasure News:
This weekend before the Massive storm that blew through Raleigh. I went to the ReStore place and found a few more cabinet doors. One is HUGE, like 2 x 3 HUGE. Chalk board here I come!

Then off to my favorite Hoarders Heaven place... Garage Brothers Off Gresham Lake for you locals. You can't be afraid of getting dirty or climbing things or opening boxes.

Score... TREASURE Trove!!

I found a Ironstone Tea Pot. Look at the crazing. I think that is my favorite piece, though it is missing the lid. Oh Well. $20 for all this and a few other odds and ends I didn't get pictures of.

Now I have a surprise for you on my facebook page! I have a picture of my disorganized mind craft area.
I would love for you all to "Like" my page.

Until I see you again,

They like me and I won!

Hello there my dears,

First Kimberly over at Bugaboo mini, mr and Me

Loved my picture of MonkeyMan and the gogurt incident.
This week she is doing elephants. Unfortunately, I don't have an elephant picture.

Then I found out that I won the Scentsy giveaway that Miss Mustard Seed was doing.
it has been a good day, tater. ;-)

Such a procrastinator...

Hello my dears,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
My weekend was filled with treasure hunting, say bye to the girls for spring break and STORMS!
Mack's BFF's birthday was this weekend so I had to come up with something quick and simple for her.

What do you think?

It is HUGE! as you can see by my messy hair.
I had to get another model but it was late and everyone was asleep. Handsome Man was not going to be the guinea pig model.
Then I made small ones trying not to burn my fingers off with the candle flame.

I had truly intended to blog about these on Friday night, but I was a bad blogger and decided to sew instead. I had to start on the baby shower present that was the next day. I know, procrastinator. I never use to be, always organized, on time, scheduled. Now, on time is about all you are going to get from me and maybe a bit of organized in my own weird way.
Since my friend doesn't read this blog I will show you the booties.

Aren't they just darling?
For a little baby boy.

I also made a burp cloth... only one because it was my first, and of course I was a bad blogger and forgot the picture. Just imagine a baby diaper shape in baby yellow flannel with a perfect swirly top stitch. Oh all right I will go home and take a picture.
If you want to see you go over to my Facebook Page. Like my Page, it will a wonderful way to get to know me better and you never know with 25 people I will get a username for my Page!
Help is needed people.

P.S. I am over Here today!

A day off

Well hello my dears,

I took a day off of work today to just have a day to myself. Ever feel like doing that, you just need a day of quiet, no phone calls, just to yourself. Watch TV, do some cleaning, laundry that has been piling up, or maybe even get some of those projects done that have been on my craft table for the past week.

I haven't kept you updated on my stairs because I lost momentum in doing them last weekend when apparently I got a paint that was too creamy. I was going for a white, light and creamy, but not too bright. This is the color of linen. Which wouldn't be bad and no one else can tell the difference in the color but I can. If I go with this color I would have to redo the trim around the stairs. I also think it dulls the rich red mahogany stain that is on the stairs. They just look BLAH. So back to the drawing board on those.

I did add a bit of color to my Living Room and Entryway.
Don't look at the TV area! work in progress.
Sorry about the dark pictures... I can never remember to take pictures during the day time.
The Color is Tobacco Road by Sherwin Williams.
I first saw the color while looking at houses and fell in love!
Yellow brown gold colors. Just gorgeous!

I am thinking of doing the living room entirely in this color above some board and batten. The contrast in color is great.

Let me know what you think. Does anyone else go from one project to another? get bored with a project?
I am suppose to be making a quilt and baby booties for 2 baby showers in one week and this is what I am doing.

well until next time,

A New Look!

Well there my dears!

Hope you all have had a great Saturday.
I have been working on some spring cleaning today, fixing a computer and another coat of Kilz on the dreaded stairs redo...yes it has become the never ending project.

Gave myself a new look today... no not me physically.. the blog!

Do you like?

Thanks to Kristin at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia  I was able to use Picasa to edit my photos and created that gorgeous collage that you see up there!

Trying to remember all of my previous education in web design, but soo much has changed in the past 6 years and I haven't kept up with it. Luckily I still have my books so you may see changes here and there.

Let me know what you think!

I also had to watch for this today.

Gabby Loves Sweet Tea.

Newest Wreath

Hello my dears!

Hope you all have been having a great week.
It is becoming beautiful here, I cant wait to get out and start taking pictures again.

What have you been working on this week?

I have been working on my wreath since last weekend, as I painted paper mache eggs and decided I wanted them glossy looking so I have been waiting for the poly to dry. Can we say procasinating ;-)

So what do you think?

Happy Sunday!

Hello there my dears,
I hope you all have had a beautiful Sunday as we did here.
Though instead of being outside in the beautiful weather like Monkey Man was all day, I was redoing stairs.
First coat of Kilz to get rid of my messy staining.

Then on to a little spring decorating.
Made the tray a couple of weeks ago, added some vinyl to it today that I got at the Dollar Tree.
I love the little quote.

Got the bunnies at a consignment shop yesterday. I couldn't resist them, soo cute!

Dollar Store Hurricane Vases that are all the rage in blogland.

Also in the process of making a wreath for the front door.
And what have you all been up to today?

Hello there my dears,

As I said a couple of days ago, we were fostering 2 kittens.
They arrived today.
So tiny they are.

Names are Gizmo and Gabby.
Gabby cries a lot but will curl up next to you and go to sleep.
Gizmo is curious and wants to explore.
Lizard is holding Gabby.
They need a bit of work on their social skills.
Two orange pretty little girls.
sorry for the bad quality, we had to bathe them.  Cell phone pic.
 Until next time,
